We are excited that you are interested in our Upward basketball and cheerleading ministry at First Baptist Church De Soto. Every year, we have between 350-400 participants in our program. We have lots of returning families, but also lots of new participants, as well! Here is some information to help your decide if our program is right for you. 

Registration will be open the first of October. Registration ends in mid November or when the league is full. Many of our divisions fill up and close so don’t put off registering your child and miss out on the fun!

Practices start in December. Games start in January. Teams practice for one hour a week. Practices are held Monday -Thursday evenings at First Baptist Church DeSoto or at another gym in Desoto. You can select one night that doesn't work for you on the registration. We do everything we possibly can to make sure siblings practice on the same night.

Games for High school are friday nights. Junior high plays Saturday nights. Kindergarten through 6th grade play Saturday morning through early evening in order. Kindergarten/1st kids play early in the day, then grade 2-3 and grade 4- 6 play last. Cheerleaders cheer for Saturday afternoon games.

We cannot always honor a request for a specific team mate or coach. Our practice schedules are built around when our coaches are available to practice. Again, we do everything we can to have siblings practice on the same night and also try our very best to make sure teams are balanced. We will do our best to link players to specific teams but it doesn't always work out.
